Our Year-Round Staff

Our Camp Counselors for School-Year Camp days are selected for their experience in working with children in camps and educational settings. Some also work with Mountain Day Camp during the summer. Along with their role as a School-Year Camp Counselor, they are students and/or hold other jobs that are flexible in nature.

Lindsey Hodges

Lindsey Hodges grew up in Georgia. In college she decided to go into the field of outdoor and environmental education. Since then, she has had many experiences at camps and teaching outdoor education. After college, she spent three terms as an AmeriCorps Member, two as a National Civilian Conservation Corps member, and then one year as a team leader. Now that her time of service has ended, she looks forward to working with Mountain Day Camp and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Colorado. Llindsey loves working with children in a camp setting. Her favorite times at camp are when she gets to see the look on a camper's face when they "get it" or have their "A-Ha" moment in a teambuilding or nature activity.

Tim Main

As a Boulder native, Tim grew up exploring Boulder County. He brings a rich knowledge of local ecology and nature oriented activities to camp. He brings experiences from similar camps he in both Portland and New Jersey. Tim has been with Mountain Day Camp for two summers, one as a Counselor, and one as an Inclusion Coordinator. During the year, Tim also works with troubled teens at Attention Homes. He enjoys talking with small groups of campers about their interests in science and nature. In his spare time, Tim is an avid climber and biker.

Kaela Owen

Kaela Owen is a Colorado native and grew up in the Denver area. She is currently a student in the education department at CU and enjoys spending time through her coursework in real classrooms. She loves working with children and especially those with special needs. As a camp counselor this past summer at Mountain Day Camp, she had a special opportunity to work with a group of campers with sensory integration deficits. She is looking forward to finishing her school program and becoming a "real teacher" when her coursework is finished.

Kristen Potter

Kristen has grown up with a strong background exploring the outdoors of Colorado and beyond. Fort Collins is her hometown, but with her Girl Scout troupe she helped organize and participate in a trip to Mount Kilimanjaro. Kristen is currently a student at CU, studying chemical engineering. She is known at camp to be one of the best counselors at starting lanyards and singing the Titanic Song. In her spare time, she enjoys Tango Dancing, soccer, and being on the ski patrol at Eldora Mountain.
