Because of Mountain Day Camp's developmental philosophy, we try to keep up on the most current research. Here are a few of the current favorites that parents might also enjoy:

Grants for Families to Attend Camp
MDC has a campership program and also wants to help families connect with other funding resources for camp. We will add to this list as we connect with other community resources:

  • City of Boulder Youth Opportunities Program
City of Boulder resident youth can apply for up to $200 to help pay for a cultural, educational, or recreational activity in Colorado. If funded, youth do four hours of community service for every $50 they receive. Learn more or apply.
Keeping Kids Safe Online
Letting kids go online does not have to be a scary experience for parents. Keeping communication open and computers in an easy to monitor place are the first steps to keeping kids safe. Remember that many cell phones have internet plans, text and photo messaging that fall into the online category. Here are some helpful links for parents with resources to filtering software and more:
  • www.safekids.com: A complete online guide for parents prepared by the Colorado Department of Education
  • www.wiredkids.org : A charity sponsored web site dedicated to protecting children and other internet users from cyber crime.

Resources on Bullying
